Camping Plage McKenzie named 2019 Campground of the year

Camping Plage McKenzie, located on the shores of Brompton Lake in Racine in the Eastern Townships, has earned the prestigious title of Camping of the Year - Leclerc Assurances 2019 from Camping Québec, Quebec’s campground association.

The customer comes first

The jury appreciated Camping Plage McKenzie’s vision, which focuses on the customer first and foremost. For Geneviève Goulet and Simon Desautels, who took over this family business, their campers’ well-being is their primary concern—they want their customers to have the perfect experience.

A sign of their client-focussed efforts—their campers are mostly families and new retirees—the owners have spent these past years developing a full, varied activity program, in addition to planning and constructing different recreational areas, including two pickleball courts and a multi-sports surface. Sites that can accommodate 45-foot RVs and ready-to-camp motorhomes were also added, much to the pleasure of travelling campers.

A warm, friendly atmosphere

Favouring a personal approach, with campers and employees alike, the owners have created a warm, friendly atmosphere on their campground, where harmony reigns all summer long—something the campground is known for.

Eco-responsible practices

Taking the environment to heart, the campground is involved in helping protect Brompton Lake, while promoting several eco-responsible practices such as composting, bottle collection and recycling. The campground also plans to install charging stations for electric cars in summer 2020.
