Summer’s coming: Watch out for heatwaves!


Prevent the effects of extreme heat

In the intense summer heat your health can quickly deteriorate. Some people are especially sensitive to the heat, including babies and kids under 5, seniors, and those with chronic health problems.

Healthy habits

During heatwaves, here are some healthy habits to help you protect yourself:

  • Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day or as directed by your doctor
  • Spend at least two hours a day in a cool or air conditioned place
  • Reduce physical exertion
