It’s spring and that means the camping season is just around the corner. To make sure you can head out on the first fine days and as soon as the season opens, spring is the ideal time to get ready.
Will you be camping in a tent, tent trailer or trailer this summer, or perhaps staying in a Huttopia tent or chalet? Your camping style will determine what tools you need to take. And for some spots you may need to reserve well ahead to make sure you get the dates you want. Now’s the time to get camping ready!
You don’t have a list? There’s no time like the present! That way you’ll be sure not to forget anything at packing time. If you already have a list, you can update it depending on what kind of camping you’re planning and check to see whether you need to add or remove any tools.
Now that you’ve updated your list, it’s time to check your tools and what condition they’re in.
Do you have enough dishes and utensils for the number of campers? Is your gas stove still working? Do you have enough saucepans, frying pans, dish cloths and tea towels and are they still in good condition? Be sure to go over your list with a fine-toothed comb to make sure you don’t forget anything.
It’s also a good idea to start by thinking about how many days you’ll be camping and what food you’ll need. If you’re going to be cooking outdoors, you can prepare a menu or a list of meals for your holiday. That will help you plan what kitchen tools you need, along with a grocery list to help you get ready ahead of time. Look for some hearty, easy-to-cook recipe ideas.
Over the next few months, we’ll be offering some great camping and outdoor recipes. Check your outdoors store and even your local library for outdoor cookbooks, too.
In short, spring is the ideal time to get ready for the coming camping season. If you get started right away, you’ll save lots of time when you head out and won’t be so likely to forget anything.
Happy planning season!
