Laurentides (15)
Regional camping and RVing association
The purpose of our regional association is to introduce everyone to the Laurentians and bring together camping enthusiasts to enjoy each others' company.
We are a young association. We have been around only since the early 1970s, when a number of campers got together to form Le Club des Campeurs du Nord. Within a few years there were a number of such camping clubs across Quebec, but no central structure. In an attempt to remedy this situation, the heads of the different organizations met to form a federation that would supervise all these clubs. That was in 1977, and the new organization was the Fédération québécoise de camping et de caravaning.
The Laurentides Association joined the Federation in January 1980. Our association is now on its 12th President and has 3,193 member families.
Our region is located northwest of Montréal. It is bounded on the south by the Mille-Îles River, on the north by the Outaouais and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions, on the east by the Lanaudière region and on the west by the Outaouais region.
