Associations régionales de Camping Caravaning

Mauricie (08)
Regional camping and RVing association

Our Regional camping and RVing association received its letters patent on October 20, 1980. The three applicants were Florent Dupuis, Adrien Genest and Robert Godin. Their first job was to put together a Board of Directors consisting of seven directors.

The region

The Mauricie region packs all the best that Quebec has to offer into one region. It's an ideal destination, especially for RVers.

The Mauricie region is a vast land of forests, lakes, rivers, villages, towns and cities waiting to be discovered all along the St-Maurice River, from the heart of the Laurentians to the St. Lawrence River. You'll find historic and heritage treasures everywhere you go. Trois-Rivières, for example, dates from 1634, making it the second-oldest city in North America. Its Notre-Dame-du-Cap sanctuary is a special favourite with visitors.

For outdoors enthusiasts, of course, there are plenty of lovely campgrounds. Hunters and anglers will enjoy our 75 outfitters' camps, and winter holds special pleasures on our 2,500 km of marked snowmobile trails. And with all our lakes and rivers, there's plenty of opportunities for rafting, canoeing and kayaking.

Our many tourist attractions include Mauricie National Park, the historic forges, the Cité de l'énergie (energy interpretation centre), the Village des bûcherons logging camp, fishing for tommycod, the Formula 1 race, an internationally renowned canoe race, and lots of museums, exhibitions and cruises. Then there are all the festivals, from the Western festival in St-Tite to the buckwheat cake festival in Louiseville, the poetry and spoken word festival in Trois-Rivières and the street theatre festival in Shawinigan. Any time you stay with us you'll also enjoy all the delicious local fare.

Finally, our Association's gatherings are known for the quality and number of activities that we put on for children, too. The meals are always greatly appreciated, and admission to our events is always a good bargain. We invite all the young families who enjoy camping to come out and join us.

The Mauricie region is located right in the heart of Quebec, so stop in and see us on your way through. Wouldn't you like to stay a while?
