Background
The Fédération québécoise
de camping et de caravaning (FQCC) and the Association des terrains
de camping du Québec (Camping Québec) decided to join
forces in 1990 to produce a single free guide to campgrounds in the
province. This led to the founding of the Conseil de développement
du camping au Québec (CDCQ), a non-profit organization devoted
mainly to promoting the camping industry.
The main services offered by the CDCQ are:
MANAGING THE CLASSIFICATION PROGRAM FOR
CAMPGROUNDS IN QUEBEC
 |
Over the years, the CDCQ has
managed three different campground classification programs,
as they were adapted to the evolving camping industry and the
changing needs of campers and operators.
The current classification
program was introduced in summer 2003. At that time Tourisme
Québec gave the CDCQ the
official mandate to classify camping establishments in Quebec.
Every two
years, a trained classifier visits each establishment. The results
are published in the Quebec Campground Guide and in this website.
|
PUBLISHING THE QUEBEC CAMPING GUIDE
 |
The annual Quebec Camping Guide,
with a print run of 200,000 copies, lists over 800 classified
campgrounds and provides a huge variety of details on the different
camping establishments.
Using a large selection of pictograms,
the Guide describes activities, services, discounts, classification
results, access routes and
lots more for each campground. It’s an indispensable tool
that helps users make informed choices when looking for their
next destination, and an essential reference for camping in Quebec.
The
Guide is distributed free of charge, starting in March, at different
outdoor shows, through the Tourisme Québec network,
and at campgrounds. It is also available from this Website — just
fill out the order form.

de camping du Québec) serves campground operators,
with publications and promotional services, activities,
discounts on purchases, and specifically targeted programs.
-
The FQCC (Fédération
québécoise de camping et de caravaning)
is an umbrella group for 18 regional associations (ARCCs).
It offers a wide range of services for its 37,000 member
