Let’s all do our part to protect the environment!
Did you know that the chemicals many people use to control odours from their RV holding tanks can be toxic and can damage a campground’s sewer system?
Did you know that inefficient campground sewer systems can contaminate groundwater and cause costly environmental and other damage?
Did you know that it costs more to install and operate sewer systems for chemically treated RV wastewater than for systems that don’t handle such chemical waste?
Did you know that some private-sector campground operators now refuse to allow RV users from dumping their wastewater if it has been chemically treated?
Did you know that there are biological holding tank treatments available, at competitive prices, that don’t harm the environment or your health?
Now that you know all that, we’re sure you’ll take a closer look at the products you use in your RV.
Camping Québec encourages RV owners to use non-toxic products to neutralize odours from their holding tanks. It also works to make campground operators aware of the benefits of discouraging users from emptying toxic chemicals into their dumping stations and septic tanks.
If we all pitch in, we can protect our environment and preserve our drinking water!
